Teaching Ideas Introduction

In this section I hope that we can place teaching ideas and assistance, maybe even just something which worked well in the classroom and achieved good results.  You are invited to use anything in this section and if you have an idea then please press the Submit My Idea link below and make your idea available to your colleagues.  Good ideas and resources are essential to a lively an interesting classroom and whilst there are many wonderful  IELTS resource books it is useful to have warmers, fillers and new ideas for enriching the teaching experience.  Many ideas which I use have come from ESOL classes and are adapted to suit the IELTS environment.  When submitting an idea please consider if it follows the 80/20 rule, that is to say, are the students doing at least 80 percent of the activity and the teacher less than 20 percent.  In addition is it inclusive of the whole class for the session or is is just collecting answers from the Famous Five (the active students who sit at the front and provide the answers first).  Are any students inactive because they are sitting out and now just spectators.  So if you have a great idea then please add it here.

Thanks,

Paul
