Some of the ideas on these pages are from personal resources and others are from other teachers and ESOL websites and are chosen for their relative merit for teaching IELTS.  You are welcome to copy and of these and I do not claim any ownership to them.  I have only listed to date ideas which I have used and which worked well in class.

Mr Bean Video

There is little or no speaking in this footage and it chops easily into one or two minute segments.  Pair up the students with one student in front and the other behind.  Instruct the student behind their partner to look at the back wall away from the video, they must not look.  Play a minute or two of a Mr Bean sketch and then the front student should tell the student who did not watch what had happened.  Then the front student should look away and the rear students watch one or two minutes.  Then the rear student can tell the front student what happened   Ideally both partners should look away two or three times so choose a sketch which split up into segments and note the stop points.  When the whole sketch has been watched half by one student and half by the other student then play the whole sketch to all the students so that they can enjoy the whole thing.
