Synonym Search Prepare a suitably academic text and make a list of synonyms for words already in the text, ensure that they are in a sequential order and that the students know this.  Give the students the list of synonyms and get them to hunt through the text and find the synonym match in the correct order in the text.  When they have finished check in pairs and then plenary check.
