Some of the ideas on these pages are from personal resources and others are from other teachers and ESOL websites and are chosen for their relative merit for teaching IELTS.  You are welcome to copy any of these and I do not claim any ownership to them.  I have only listed to date ideas which I have used and which worked well in class.

Chinese Whispers

Split students into teams of maybe ten students.  Place them in lines.  The first students from each line all come to the front of the class and the teacher shows them a written sentence, for example;  The meatball rolled off the table and onto the floor.  Then the meatball rolled across the floor and out through the door.  It rolled across the garden and under a bush”.  Each student who has read the line goes back to the second student in their line and whispers it so that no one else can hear it.  The second student then whispers it to the third student in the line until it gets to the last student who then has to write it on the board.  The first team to finish are the winners.  Lastly write the original version on the board.
