The Writing Module

The Two Tasks

Academic Training Module (ATM)     General Training Module (GTM)

Task One GTM

The candidate is asked to write a letter on a given situation or problem.  The letter must be a minimum length of 150 words and must express views or gain information.

Task Two GTM

The candidate is given a topic and is asked to write a minimum of 250 words in the form of a logical argument or discussion.

Task One ATM

The candidate is given a diagram, graph, table or short piece of text and has to present a description of the data and information in a logical and coherent manner.  The writing should be at least 150 words minimum.

Task Two ATM

The candidate is given a topic and is asked to write a minimum of 250 words in the form of a logical linear argument or discussion.  The argument should provide suitable opinion and viewpoints which are considered and balanced and should use examples to reinforce views and opinions.

Both the GTM and ATM are allotted 60 minutes and it is recommended that 20 minutes should be allowed for Task 1 and 40 minutes for Task 2.  Scripts are penalised if they are short in length.
